Humane Society International Australia is a large, supporter-based national organisation that maintains an ongoing and high profile campaign to keep fur out of Australia. Its primary vehicle for doing is their Annual Faux Fur Fashion Show, celebrating fashion without real fur. HSI has gained pledges from the majority of Australia's fashion designers not to use fur, and the Show is also to thank designers for their support. HSI also exposed the sale of fur fashion items that featured dog and cat fur imported from Asia, and is now working towards a national import ban. HSI also concentrates on wildlife and habitat protection issues in Australia and regionally, and maintains a small grants program to help NGOs in the Asia/Pacific Region.
HSI is acting as a Design Against Fur Regional Focal Point for the Australia & Asia Pacific round of the 2004 contest.

Fauna Society was founded in 1990, as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, to fight for the basic rights of our fellow animals. Today our aim is to integrate a modern, ecologically-based animal protection view into Hungarian society, and to change human attitudes towards animals in every relevant field of life: agriculture, science, companion animal keeping, entertainment and racing.
In accordance with these aims, we are examining the situation of animals in Hungary, uncovering animal abuse, lobbying, proposing legislation, and organising events and campaigns for a responsible human-animal relationship.
In cooperation with teachers groups, we also promote animal protection education to be a part of the national curriculum.

Bont voor Dieren (Fur for Animals) is dedicated to the protection of fur animals, believing that no one should kill an animal to make a coat out of its fur. Fur is a luxury product, and there are many warm and beautiful animal-friendly alternatives. 30,000 members and supporters contribute to the non-violent and legal means Bont voor Dieren employs in its campaigns to protect fur animals. These campaigns have had success: the selling of fur has drastically declined over the past years in the Netherlands and the breeding of foxes and chinchillas is no longer allowed.
But still each year over 3 million mink, that have been bred specifically for their fur, live and die under cruel circumstances. Many wild animals are also injured, killed and captured with leghold traps. Bont voor Dieren acts upon this cruelty towards animals through education, organising legal actions and media campaigns, and by political lobbying.

NOAH for animal rights is Norways largest animal rights organisation. NOAH is working for the rights of animals in a society where they are by law defined as things as human property. The organisation opposes animal mistreatment in any form, especially when it is protected by law. NOAH is working against the commercial exploitation of animals, and thereby against the tradition of viewing animals as goods and products. NOAH engages itself both for captive animals and wild animals, being victims of human exploitation. NOAHs work for animals rights is based on a deep ecological principle, where the respect for humans and animals intrinsic worth is an obvious part of the respect for natures worth in itself. NOAH headquarters is located in Oslo. At present, the fur issue is one of NOAHs no. 1 priorities.
