Design Against Fur 2008 is a campaign of the Fur Free Alliance, an international coalition of some 27 leading humane and conservation organizations representing tens of millions of supporters worldwide. The following FFA affiliates are proud to sponsor the 2008 competition:
ANIMAL PROTECTION INSTITUTE

Established in 1968, Animal Protection Institute (API) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending animal abuse and exploitation. Through legislation, litigation, advocacy, and public education, API works to end cruelty towards animals. API’s primary areas of concern include wildlife, companion animals, animals used in entertainment and laboratory research, as well as animals killed for their fur. As the US kills the largest number of animals through trapping, API offers a wealth of knowledge about this area of the fur industry— including what the public can do to stop it—on their Ban Cruel Traps website. API also operates the API Primate Sanctuary, where more than 400 primates rescued from abusive situations in laboratories, roadside zoos, and private possession live in a free-range environment with minimal human interference.
